This position is responsible for planning and purchasing parts, specifically focused on production / manufacturing parts. The Planner will be responsible for scheduling the usage of production materials to ensure optimal levels. The Planner must evaluate suppliers and quality timeliness and match according to goals and targets. They also must monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage that may arise.



  • Use information from ERP sales forecast, MRP safety stock levels, customer sales orders and production capacity.
  • Review material shortage reports and communicate to appropriate parties to determine parts availability for daily production planning and weekly lead times.
  • Maintain an open line of communication to all departments and suppliers that affect the goals and objectives of the company.
  • Must be able to meet daily, weekly with production team to ensure all requests are met.
  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Coordinating production operations in accordance with material and equipment availability.
  • Analyze, understand purchase orders and plans to meet production / forecast demand.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of purchasing and planning master data for assigned materials and products.
  • Purchase manufacturing aids for all product lines.
  • Must be able to report on a regular basis to various sources on project progress, cost savings, improving vendor and partner initiatives.
  • Proactively seek out, assess and deliver cost and lead-time reduction opportunities and supply chain solutions.
  • Manage inventory for assigned parts portfolio, aligning material input to support customer requirements.
  • Expediate production or purchase orders that are needed in less than the normal lead time to improve the shortfall between current plan and requirements to meet or exceed customer expectation.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Must be able to use all MS Office applications, intermediate Excel user, BAAN LN a plus, SAP Experience.
