Responsible for conducting the daily purchasing and sourcing activities of the company including manufactured and commercial materials, equipment, services and managing vendors.  Accountable for the throughput of materials through the production process and throughout the company.  Responsible for coordinating directly with the Production Project Management team to ensure all materials are available for production according to production schedules.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

–              Responsible for assuring all materials, supplies and components are ordered and delivered, ready for production as scheduled to achieve production plan

–              Place orders in accordance with specifications called out in the Scope of Work and Bill of Materials or other applicable purchase request documents

–              Accountable to Production Project Manager (PPM) in regards to assuring all materials needed for production projects are on site and ready for transition into production

–              Clear and accurate communication with appropriate stakeholders and cross functional team members

–              Responsible for accurate and timely entry of orders into the accounting / purchasing system to ensure proper visibility across the organization

–              Develop and cultivate collaborative relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers

–              Select appropriate vendors/suppliers based upon specifications, capabilities, capacity and service needs

–              Follow up on all outstanding Purchase Orders to ensure delivery according to our requested delivery date

–              Responsible for timely and accurate entry of material and product receipts into appropriate accounting / business systems for tracking, usage, visibility, accounts payable, etc.

–              Engage appropriate Design, Engineering or Project Teams to verify quality of received goods to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements

–              Responsible for the timely return or disposal (based upon vendor instruction) of non-conforming materials as well as ensure timely and sufficient credit for and/or replacement of rejected materials

–              Communicate and negotiate with vendor(s) to replace non-conforming goods

–              Be informed and consider any market conditions, trends and/or corporate mergers, acquisitions, etc. that may affect prices or the balance in the buyer-supplier relationship

–              Frequently monitor, review and update inventory minimum stock levels and/or needs based upon forecasted demand, supply chain climate, project changes, etc.

–              Responsible for coordinating and ensuring inventory counts, audits and reconciliation

–              Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking

–              Assess, manage and mitigate risks

–              Be accessible for employees to ask questions regarding area of expertise

–              Empowered to work with supervision to resolve problems and improve processes

–              Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other company management

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

–              High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

–              1-3 years of procurement experience in manufacturing or similarly complex environment

–              Strong negotiating and networking skills

–              Ability to quickly and efficiently gather and analyze data to work with figures

–              Detail oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects

–              Proven working experience in the procurement space

–              Solid judgement along with decision making skills

–              Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds occasionally

–              Working knowledge and ability to be trained on computer programs and applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Quickbooks, Monday.com, etc.

–              Must be collaborative
