Job Summary:

The Packaging Associate is responsible for operating and troubleshooting packaging equipment in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. They must be able to follow production schedules and perform basic maintenance tasks, while ensuring that quality standards are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment according to the production schedule

Monitor equipment and make adjustments, changeovers, and small repairs as needed

Operate bin discharge

Perform sanitation tasks to ensure the packaging area meets quality standards

Complete re-work as necessary

Maintain accurate records and logs of the packaging process, including the usage of materials and transfers of product within the RedZone system

Perform and document in-process quality checks on representative samples periodically to ensure correct packaging

Clean, disassemble, and reassemble line equipment to prepare for inspection or deep cleaning

Changeover/set up machine for the next packaging run by loading product, components, printer material, etc.; adjusting settings; checking the line; and obtaining line clearance

Follow safety procedures and policies in all job tasks

Follow and enforce all company Good Manufacturing Practices

Work 40 hours per week with overtime as business needs require

Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
