The Master Data Specialist will act as gatekeeper to ensure all critical data elements are in place, using consistent naming conventions and established nomenclature before SKU/Item activation and/or use.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as guardian/gatekeeper of item master data to ensure accuracy
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the WM bin tables and prime pick locations
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality issues through process control / improvement and error detection / correction
  • Participate in projects and initiatives across multiple functional areas and regions when required
  • Work with departments to define standard operation procedures, process flows and related documentation
  • Establish pricing for Bill of Material Items
  • Conducts data cleansing to identify unused and/or duplicate data for better management and quicker access
  • Review and maintain (and as Necessary correct) data linkage between Bill of Materials, Invoice, Moving Average Price, Standard Price
  • Responsible for new item assignment not produced
  • Responsible for extending items
  • Responsible for creating and distributing the weekly sales reports every Tuesday and Thursday
  • Responsible for updating the Historical Data on monthly sales and purchase on the top items established
  • Responsible for creating and distributing monthly the potential overstock list and the Discontinued list
  • Maintain and update Line Review reports as requested
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

2 years previous master data management experience in SAP preferred. Working knowledge of SAP ERP / MRP Required. SAP Material Master and Warehouse Management preferred. Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills required. Excel (i.e. macros, pivot tables, advanced chart and formula building.) Analytically minded and methodical problem solver. Process orientated. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel by phone, in person or written communication. Ability to work under pressure in a detailed, organized manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a team required. Self-motivated and strong analytical/problem solving skills. Process orientated and excellent attention to detail. Provide Ad hoc analyses as needed
