The Electrician is responsible for the work in the electrical trades department. The Electrician will assist and conduct electrical based activities such as wiring, troubleshooting, blueprint reviews, and lamp replacements for all electrical activities of all athletics facilities. This position works to assist with other trades (HVAC, Plumbing, Boiler Techs, etc.) on a daily basis. This position assists with supporting athletics events outside of normal work schedule on OT during the evening and weekends as scheduled. This position participates in the “On-Call” after hour rotation schedule. This schedule requires a 2-week rotation a minimum of twice a year. The Electrician performs other duties as assigned by the Building Systems Manager and Tech Trades Supervisor. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


  • Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification in the following skilled trades: Journeyman Electrician according to ACA 17-28-304
  • At least four years’ experience in the chosen field
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of additional trades, including but not limited to HVAC, Boilers, and/or Plumbing
  • Experience working with outside contractors
  • Master Electrician License


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and codes relating to one or more of the skilled trades
  • Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and techniques
  • Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades
  • Ability to plan and coordinate all phases of work projects in one or more of the skilled trades
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings
