Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our client’s team at a nursing home catering to veterans in Fayetteville. As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for food preparation and cooking in the kitchen, ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals. This role is considered Safety Sensitive, in accordance with state law guidelines, and may require drug testing and a fit-for-duty evaluation as a condition of employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
- Assist in ensuring that meals are nutritious, well-presented, and served at appropriate temperatures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with food inventory management, storage, and rotation.
- Collaborate with dietary and kitchen staff to provide exceptional service to our veteran residents.
- Adhere to all dietary restrictions and special dietary needs of the residents as directed.
- Engage with residents in a courteous and respectful manner during meal service.
- Monitor and report any concerns regarding residents’ eating habits or dietary changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in the setting up and cleaning of dining areas before and after meals.
- Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and regulations related to dietary services.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dietary Aide, cook, or food service-related role is preferred but not required.
- Understanding of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a caring demeanor when dealing with residents.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry food supplies, and perform kitchen-related tasks.
