Position: Branch Manager


Classification: Exempt


Reports to: Director of Branch Operations




The Branch Manager is responsible for providing leadership to all staff assigned to their branch by the daily management of internal and temporary employees including interviewing, hiring, motivating, recognizing, training, problem solving, coaching, counseling, termination and accurate documentation of work hours.  In addition, is equally responsible for the development and maintenance of current and new customer relationships.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Comply with 1st Employment’s policies, procedures, processes and work instructions and leads by example


  1. Oversee the branch operations and leads internal and temporary employees with a positive attitude and demonstrating professionalism


  1. Coordinate, conduct and document weekly meetings with internal staff and lead team to work towards the branch goals


  1. Ensure all branch posters required by law are posted and up to date according to corporate guidance


  1. Develop and maintain long-lasting positive and professional relationships with customers in need of staffing services, applicants seeking employment, temporary employees, peers and 1st Employment’s leadership team


  1. Embrace open door policy and serve as liaison between temporary employees and customers and internal staff and corporate


  1. Train and develop new internal staff in all aspects of recruiting, application process, orientation, customer relations, sales, ordering, worker’s compensation, etc.


  1. Design and manage daily tasks of light duty personnel and all internal staff in the branch, schedule staff according to branch needs and maintain clock system up to date


  1. Strategize, identify, design, evaluate, and track creative recruiting resources to attract target skilled candidates based on customer needs


  1. Design and develop job postings and advertisement for newspapers and internet recruiting sources and coordinate job fairs. Guide internal staff in the recruiting of candidates through 1st Employment website, social media, universities/colleges and job fairs by posting jobs in multiple platforms and searching and screening resumes based on job specifications


  1. Conduct skills-based and behavioral interviews based on minimum requirements of the job for internal and temporary positions


  1. Identify and administer viable skills assessments according to core competencies of the jobs


  1. Extend conditional job offer to qualified candidates in compliance with 1st Employment policies and guide candidate through the accurate completion of all new hire paperwork according to company, state and federal regulations


  1. Verify employment eligibility of all new hires, through the proper completion of the Form I-9 and E-Verify, track expiring Form I-9 documents and verify that all cases are properly closed according to the law


  1. Design and conduct new hire orientations and customer specific orientations


  1. Conduct reference checks, drug screens and criminal background checks in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act (FCRA) regulations and customer specifications and terminate employees when necessary


  1. Select qualified employees according to job requirements and extend job offers and/or coordinate interviews with customers, if required by their Hiring Manager, and extend and negotiate job offers


  1. Avoid legal challenges by complying with all employment laws and Federal and State regulations, including but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO),  Affirmative Action (AA) guidelines and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)


  1. Communicate with customers, by phone and in person, in accepting job orders, skill marketing, activity follow-up, customer service and complaint resolution


  1. Represent 1st Employment in meetings with new and existing customers, as well as networking events, to help increase sales and cultivate business relations


  1. Lead internal staff in the daily management, direction and communication to temporary employees on assignment so that customer needs are met on a timely and efficient manner


  1. Coach and counsel of temporary and internal employees through progressive discipline to improve performance, correct behaviors, and communicate expectations


  1. Terminate temporary and internal employees when no improvement is achieved after taking employee through progressive discipline


  1. Document activity in computer database and maintain logs, files and staffing information system up to date


  1. Maintain all temporary employee personnel and confidential files complete, up-to-date and in compliance with the law


  1. Enter new customers into staffing software and negotiate rates and provide all initial contractual paperwork based on Corporate recommendations


  1. Partner with the Business Development team in cold-calling and identifying potential customers  in need of staffing services


  1. Maintain all customer files current, complete and updated


  1. Design, customize and/or complete daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly 1st Employment and customer reports in an accurate and timely manner


  1. Gather all work related incident/accident information involving temporary employees, complete Worker’s Compensation first reports, investigate injury and partner with customer to determine best corrective actions to prevent future incidents, go with injured employees to initial and follow up appointments with medical providers and submit claims to Claims Administrator


  1. Coordinate and conduct safety walk-thru customers sites and complete initial and quarterly Risk Assessments to identify hazards and reduce potential liabilities through prevention of injuries


  1. Reduce unemployment costs by responding to unemployment claims in an accurate and timely manner and by leading team in the gathering and submission of  supporting evidence, proper documentation in staffing software and appeal and serve as  first-hand witness when necessary


  1. Gather temporary employee’s timesheets, review its accuracy according to the law, and seek approval from customers when necessary


  1. Enter temporary employees work hours into staffing software for payroll purposes, track and submits all internal staff time and/or Personal Time Off to Corporate


  1. Find cost-efficient ways to minimize branch expenses and increase branch profit


  1. Assist the Director of Branch Operations in identifying cost-efficient suppliers, place orders for supplies with vendors when necessary and assist with the organization and cleaning of the office


  1. Provide recommendations about company processes including but not limited to recruiting, application, on-boarding, interview, placement, retention, termination processes, business development and expenses




  1.
