A: 1st Employment has a thorough knowledge of the Northwest Arkansas business community and the local employment picture. Many employers choose to hire all their workers through 1st Employment; others give first consideration to our candidates, since we screen workers and streamline their hiring process. We also offer screen-to-hire placement, which allows both employer and job candidate to try out the working relationship and make sure it’s a good fit. We can speed up your search, get you back to work faster, and move you along the career path that best suits you.

Q: As an employer, why should I choose 1st Employment as my staffing solution?

A: We know business. We have the training and experience, as well as the knowledge of the local business community, to get your job done efficiently, effectively, and economically. Recruiting, hiring, and training can cost thousands of dollars for each position. 1st Employment makes sure the job gets done right, and offers the support that benefits your workers and your bottom line.

Q: Is there a fee for applicants and employees?

A: No. 1st Employment saves employers time and money with their staffing needs, so they are happy to pay us to find good workers like you. Our services to you are free.

Q: Is 1st Employment a temp agency?

A: 1st Employment is a complete staffing solutions company. We work with company and job seekers to determine the best fit, whether that’s temporary employment, temp-to-permanent work, or direct hire.

Q: Will I work for 1st Employment or for the employer?

A: 1st Employment offers direct hire services, which means that employers hire the workers we find for them directly. In that case, you will work for the company that hires you and they will pay you. However, 1st Employment also offers hiring solutions, so you may be a 1st Employment employee. In that case, 1st Employment will be your employer and will pay you.

Q: If I work for 1st Employment, how do I keep track of hours and receive payment?

A: Timecards are due each Monday before 10AM for the previous workweek. Each 1st Employment location has a drop box for time cards left after business hours and weekends. Friday is payday for the hours turned in that Monday. 1st Employment can deposit your wages directly to your bank account, or you can pick up a check. Some customer locations 1st Employment will deliver your check each week. You can cash your check at any Simmons First Bank location if you don’t have a bank account of your own.

Q: What happens when I complete an assignment?

A: Let us know that you’re ready for another assignment, and we’ll begin marketing your skills to other employers. We ask that you call us within 48 hours of completing an assignment.
